JANET DUNCAN (1944 - 2010)
Janet Duncans tragic premature death last year robbed Henley on Thames and the Home Counties of one of their most celebrated watercolourists.
Married to the sculptor, Clive Duncan, and born and educated locally, Janet became widely known especially for her finely crafted watercolours of the River Thames and its Regatta's in particular.
She won awards for her skill with this notoriously difficult medium and also held regular exhibitions locally, mainly with the Century Galleries, Henley, during her lifetime.
Janet Duncan produced watercolours of the highest quality, works that will endure for centuries to come as a record of the river and its events during the latter part of the 20th, and early part of the 21st centuries.
Century Galleries has always carried a large stock of Janet's work and is proud to be staging this new "On Line" exhibition of her watercolour paintings, most of which have not been exhibited in public before.
